MK Center for Research and Debate

Welcome to the MKCRD – MK Center for Research and Debate, where research guides action and dialogue shapes the future. We promote research, debate, and critical thinking to empower youth and support informed decision-making. MKCRD is a pro bono initiative, part of our service to schools, organizations, and communities. By nurturing critical voices, promoting evidence-based conversation, and strengthening analytical skills, we aim to foster a more thoughtful and engaged world.

What We Do

Research

At MKCRD, we train and mentor young researchers, helping them build critical thinking, analytical skills, and the confidence to make a real impact in their communities. We also conduct research that addresses pressing social issues and produces actionable insights.

Debate

At MKCRD, debate goes beyond competition—it is a tool for learning, critical thinking, and active engagement. We primarily organize policy debates, where participants analyze complex social and policy issues, craft strong arguments, and advocate with confidence. We also provide debate training and organize debate programs for students on a variety of topics, promoting public speaking, critical thinking, and social development.

Critical Thinking

We are committed to strengthening critical thinking in classrooms, institutions, and communities. Through workshops, trainings, and collaborative sessions, we equip learners with the skills to question assumptions, analyze information, and develop innovative solutions.

Academic Counseling

We provide academic counseling to guide students in their higher education and career journeys. Our support includes personalized advice on course selection, career planning, and opportunities for studying abroad. Through one-on-one sessions and workshops, we help learners make informed decisions, set achievable goals, and navigate pathways for academic and professional growth.

High-quality training. MKCRD is committed to empowering young people through high-quality training in research, debate, and critical thinking. Our trainers—experienced researchers, academics, and development practitioners—are deeply passionate about making a meaningful difference.

Collaborative Critical and Service Exchange Model. MKCRD’s Critical and Service Exchange Model combines research, debate, and critical thinking with meaningful community contribution. Participants engage in reflective dialogue and collaborative learning, while giving back through their time, skills, or support—such as mentoring, organizing events, or promoting programs. This approach fosters inclusive participation, shared growth, and collective action.

Volunteers Contribute Time and Skills. All MKCRD programs are offered completely free of charge. While we encourage voluntary contributions of time and skills, participation remains open and accessible.
